Dhirdham temple is modeled on the lines of the famous Pashupatinath temple of Kathmandu and was built in 1939Constructed by Rai Saheb Purna Bahadur Pradhan, the temple is situated below the Darjeeling Railway Station.. It is a minute's walk from the Darjeeling Railway Station.The temple architecture was inspired by the famous Pashupatinath Temple at Kathmandu in Nepal. There is a statue of Lord Shiva outside the main temple. It depicts “Pancha Bakram Tri Netram” which means five different facial expressions of Lord Shiva in different moods and the third eye. Aarti is held every day at 08:00 hrs and 18:00 hrs.

The best time to visit is from April to June and September to December. Average summer temperatures hover between 14°C and 8°C and the winter temperatures fall to between 6°C and 1°C.

Air: The nearest Airport to Darjeeling is Bagdogra.It gives around 100 km journey to Darjeeling.Rail: Shiliguri is connected to all the major cities of India by train.From Shiliguri and New Jalpaiguri, the Toy Trains are available which gives a memorable journey to Darjeeling.Road: Shiliguri is also well accessed by road ways and buses , minibuses jeeps run every thirty minutes or so from Siliguri to Darjeeling,Mirik,Gangtok Katmandu and other places.
